The denim generator simulates the characteristic 2/1 twill weave of jean fabric. Denim's distinctive diagonal pattern comes from the warp thread passing over two weft threads then under one — this produces diagonal ridges running at roughly 45 degrees. The generator draws this twill explicitly: a diagonal set of lines at the primary twill angle with a secondary perpendicular set for the cross-threads. Indigo shading is applied to only the warp threads (white weft threads are never dyed in real denim production), which is why denim has its characteristic blue-and-white heathered appearance.
weaveScale controls the thickness of individual thread ridges. twillAngle biases the diagonal direction — standard is 45 degrees but japan-denim variants use different angles. indigoStrength controls the blue-to-white contrast. wear adds localised fading that simulates worn denim at knees, pockets, and edges.

Deep raw denim keeps indigoStrength at maximum with minimal wear. Broken-in jeans sit around wear 0.4 to 0.5. For heavily distressed vintage jeans, push wear above 0.7 and reduce indigoStrength slightly (faded denim is more cyan than pure indigo). Selvage denim often has a tighter weaveScale.
