Hi, I'm kungfury-sketch

I'm a solo developer. I run Texturize alone — no team, no investors, no parent company. The site launched in early 2026 because I kept hitting the same problem on every side project: I needed one specific seamless texture, and the options were paying $15 at a stock site for something almost right, or spending an hour making one from scratch. Both are fine once. Both are miserable at scale.

So I wrote a procedural generator. Then another. Then fifty. Texturize is now a library of 500 pre-generated seamless textures plus 50 interactive generators you can customise in your browser — every output is free, royalty-free, with no sign-up and no email collection.

I publish under the handle kungfury-sketch. The code, issue tracker, and release history all live on GitHub.

Why procedural, not photographed

I have a long-standing interest in noise algorithms. There's something satisfying about generating an entire marble slab from nothing but a seed number and four octaves of fractional Brownian motion. No camera, no licensing, no attribution — just math and a canvas element.

Every texture on this site comes out of an algorithm I wrote in TypeScript. Nothing is diffusion-model AI. Nothing is scraped from other sites. Nothing relies on third-party image APIs. The generators use classical procedural techniques — Perlin and simplex noise, fractional Brownian motion, Voronoi diagrams, domain warping, cellular noise — evaluated on a torus topology so that every output tiles seamlessly. The top edge wraps to the bottom, left to right, and you can drop the result into any 3D material without visible seams.

This approach has a practical consequence: every texture is deterministic. The same preset and the same seed always produce the same pixels. If you customise a marble at 1024×1024, you can come back three months later and download the exact same pattern at 4096×4096 with one click. That's impossible with photographic libraries.

What's on the site

500 pre-generated seamless textures — PNG downloads at 1024, 2048, and 4096 pixels. Royalty-free for commercial and personal use. Every texture passes automated seam validation before publication, so you won't import a broken tile.

50 interactive generators — wood, marble, brick, fabric, metal, terrain, lava, scales, ice, stained glass, circuit boards, and 39 more. Tweak parameters live, pick from 10 presets per generator, download at any supported size. All rendering runs in your browser via the Canvas API — nothing touches a server.

4 browser-based utilities — Texture Mixer (blend two textures), Make Seamless (repair non-tiling images into proper tiles), Normal Map Generator (convert height maps to normal maps), Palette Extractor (pull dominant colours from any image).

30 technical articles covering texture formats, PBR workflows, tiling techniques, normal maps, ambient occlusion, compression, and tool-specific import guides for Unity, Unreal Engine, Blender, Godot, Substance Painter, Photoshop, and Figma. See the blog.

What I do not collect

There are no user accounts on Texturize. I do not ask for an email address. Favourites and saved textures live in your browser's localStorage, not on a server I control. I do not run analytics on visitor identity, and I do not sell user data — I have no user data to sell.

The site does display ads through Google AdSense, which sets its own cookies for ad personalisation. You can control that with the standard browser controls or opt out at Google's ad settings. Full details in the privacy policy.

How the site is funded

Texturize runs ads through Google AdSense. That is the only revenue source. Ads help cover Cloudflare R2 storage (the texture library is about 2 GB of PNGs), the Workers plan, and the domain renewal. I keep ad density low — no full-screen interstitials, no autoplay video, and no ads at all on most of the texture-heavy pages where they would be disruptive. If the funding model ever changes, it will be announced on the blog, and the library and generators stay free.

Licensing

Every texture and every generator output is released under the Texturize Royalty-Free License. Use them in personal and commercial projects. Attribution is not required. The only restriction is that you cannot redistribute the library as a standalone texture pack — the collection itself stays on this site. Full legal terms in the Terms of Service.

Getting in touch

For licensing questions, bug reports, takedown requests, feature ideas, or anything else — see the contact page or open an issue on the GitHub repository. I read every submission and respond to most within a few days.
