How to Use Your Carbon Fiber Generator Texture

CSS Background

Tile as a CSS background at small scale (64-128px) to maintain the tight weave pattern. Use with a dark background-color (#1a1a1a) and add a CSS radial-gradient overlay for a subtle metallic highlight.

background: url('texturize_carbon-fiber.png') repeat; background-size: 256px 256px;

Blender

Use as Base Color on a Principled BSDF with Metallic at 0.3-0.5 and Clearcoat at 0.8-1.0 for the resin coating. Add Anisotropic at 0.3 with rotation at 0 degrees to simulate the directional weave reflections.

Unity & Unreal Engine

In Unreal, use the Clear Coat shading model with a high clear coat value for the epoxy resin layer. In Unity HDRP, enable Coat Mask at 0.8 and set a dark Base Color with the weave texture driving Normal and Roughness.

Photoshop & Figma

Apply as a pattern overlay in Photoshop Layer Styles on product mockups for a high-tech carbon shell effect. In Figma, use as a tiling image fill scaled to 25-50% for subtle weave detail on dark UI components.

Game Development

Use for racing car body panels, sports equipment, drone shells, and sci-fi armor plating. The tight weave reads well even at distance when combined with strong specular highlights from environment maps.

Architectural Visualization

Perfect for modern furniture accents, automotive showroom details, and high-end kitchen surfaces in contemporary interior renders. The directional weave adds visual sophistication to flat panels.

Print & Packaging

Use as a background for automotive accessories packaging, high-end electronics boxes, and sports equipment branding. The technical weave pattern communicates precision engineering and performance.

Social Media & Video

Creates a sleek, high-performance backdrop for automotive content, tech product launches, and sports brand promotions. The dark weave pattern signals premium quality and engineering excellence.

Carbon Fiber Generator FAQ

Are these textures seamless?▼
Yes. Every texture produced by our generators is designed to tile seamlessly in all directions. You can repeat the image horizontally and vertically without visible seams, making it ideal for large surfaces in 3D rendering, web backgrounds, and game environments.
What sizes can I download?▼
Each texture can be downloaded as a lossless PNG in three resolutions: 1024×1024, 2048×2048, and 4096×4096 pixels. You can also download all three sizes at once as a ZIP bundle that includes a LICENSE file and a settings.json with the exact parameters used to generate the texture.
Can I use these textures commercially?▼
Absolutely. All textures generated on Texturize are royalty-free for both personal and commercial use. No attribution is required. You can use them in client work, game assets, product packaging, architectural visualizations, and any other project.
What does the seed number do?▼
The seed controls the random variation of the texture. The same seed with the same settings will always produce the exact same result, making it easy to recreate or share specific textures. Click Randomize to explore new variations, or enter a specific number to reproduce a texture you like.
What weave patterns are available?▼
Three carbon fiber weave patterns are supported: plain weave with a simple over-under structure, twill weave with diagonal lines (similar to denim), and herringbone with alternating V-shaped chevron patterns for a premium look.
How do I adjust the reflective sheen?▼
The highlight intensity slider controls the strength of the directional sheen effect, while the view angle rotates the light source to change which fiber bundles catch the light. The highlight color picker lets you tint the reflection.
What are carbon fiber textures used for?▼
Carbon fiber textures are widely used in automotive product renders, sports equipment visualization, tech device mockups, gaming peripheral design, aerospace component previews, and premium UI backgrounds for technology applications.

How the carbon-fibre generator works

Written by kungfury-sketch from hands-on experience building and maintaining the generator.

The algorithm

The carbon-fibre generator simulates a woven carbon-fibre pattern by drawing diagonal ribbons that interleave in a basket-weave arrangement. Each ribbon is rendered as a parallelogram with a soft specular highlight down its centre, simulating how carbon weave reflects a thin band of highlight along each tow. The weaving is handled by alternating ribbon colour and shadowing based on which direction is on top at each intersection. Anisotropic highlights are applied across the whole surface to simulate the characteristic mirror-like sheen of finished carbon fibre.

What the parameters do

weaveSize controls the ribbon thickness. twill toggles between 2/2 plain weave and 3/1 twill patterns — 3/1 twill is the more expensive-looking weave used in luxury automotive. highlight controls specular intensity. tint biases between pure black carbon, smoked, and custom coloured carbons.

What it's good for

Automotive interior visualisation, sports equipment product renders, aerospace concept visualisation, consumer electronics styling (headphones, laptops, phone cases), and premium brand web backgrounds where you want a technical, high-end feel.

Practical tips

Keep the base colour near pure black but not exact — real carbon fibre has a subtle blue or green cast depending on the clear coat. For matte carbon, reduce highlight below 0.2. For the red-carbon accent you see in race car interiors, shift the tint toward deep crimson rather than trying to red-shift a black texture; the weave structure needs to remain recognisable.
