background-size: 256px 256px;Use as a Displacement input with a Subdivision Surface modifier for raised hexagonal tile geometry. Apply separate materials to hex faces and grooves using the texture as a mix mask for two-tone honeycomb surfaces.
In Unity, use as a heightmap for hex tile displacement on floor surfaces with tessellation enabled. In Unreal, create a Material that masks hex cell centers for separate Roughness and Metallic values, simulating inlaid hex tiles.
Use as a geometric overlay in Photoshop for tech-themed poster compositions and futuristic UI mockups. In Figma, apply as a tiling background fill for presentation slides and dashboard wireframes with a hexagonal grid motif.
Essential for strategy game hex grids, sci-fi floor panels, honeycomb structures, and nanomaterial surfaces in turn-based and sci-fi games. Use hex centers as spawn points for procedural content placement.
Use for honeycomb tile flooring, hexagonal wall cladding, and acoustic panel arrangements in modern commercial interiors. The hex pattern is popular in contemporary retail and hospitality design.
Use for science and technology publication covers, honey product packaging, and geometric branding materials. The hexagonal pattern conveys structure, efficiency, and natural engineering.
Creates a modern, tech-forward backdrop for startup announcements, science content, and futuristic brand posts. The hex grid reads as innovative and systematic at any display size.

The hexagonal generator tiles the plane with regular hexagons using a pointy-top orientation. Each hexagon is identified by its grid coordinates, and colour variation is applied per-cell. Optional border strokes define the edges between hexagons. Variants include honeycomb (yellow tones with dark borders), tiled (flat colours with no borders), and technical (blueprint-style grid). The hexagonal packing is mathematically optimal, which is why honeycombs adopt it — every cell is perfectly equivalent to its neighbours.
hexSize controls individual hexagon diameter. borderWidth sets the thickness of lines between cells. colorVariance pushes per-hex colour differences. style toggles between honeycomb, tiled, and technical variants.
Sci-fi and game environment UI overlays, scientific visualisation (chemistry, materials science), branded web backgrounds for tech brands, architectural visualisation of hexagonal tile floors, and decorative tabletop gaming maps.
Honeycomb reads most convincingly with slight per-cell warm tone variation (yellow to amber) and a dark brown border. Technical/blueprint reads best with a dark background and bright cyan or white hex borders — almost no variance. For tile-style applications, keep hex size below 0.1 so the grid reads as surface rather than background graphic.
