Basalt Stone

How this texture was made

The stone generator combines a low-frequency FBM for the overall stone body colour with a mid-frequency Voronoi decomposition that breaks the surface into irregular individual stones. Each Voronoi cell is treated as a separate stone and receives its own slight colour offset.

Dark volcanic basalt with rough texture and subtle cracking. Ideal for volcanic landscapes, modern architectural facades, and dramatic dark stone surfaces.

Configuration choices

• roughness is set to 0.7, which is high — producing a rougher, more aggressive surface
• colorVariation is set to 0.3, which sits in the mid range — a moderate palette spread
• weathering is set to 0.15, which is at the low end — with pristine, fresh-looking output

Palette character

The palette pairs near-black with indigo tint with near-black. It sits in a neutral range with all values held in the dark range.
