How this texture was made

The sand generator produces a fine grain pattern using multiple layers of high-frequency FBM noise. The finest layer simulates individual grains — bright highlights on tiny speckles that catch light.

Coarse mixed gravel with large grain and minimal ripple. Great for construction sites, unpaved road textures, and rough natural ground surfaces.

Configuration choices

• moisture is set to 0.05, which is at the low end — producing a dry, arid surface
• rippleFrequency 0.02 — higher values produce more repetitions across the tile
• seed 9 — changing this produces a different but statistically similar variant

Palette character

The palette pairs dusty terracotta with terracotta. It reads warm with visible contrast between lighter and darker zones.

When this texture fits best

Works as an overlay layer, compositional grit, natural-surface ground, or as a base for additional texture stacking. Sand works well as both the primary surface and as a secondary weathering overlay on rock or stone.
