How this texture was made

The noise generator is the foundational procedural tool: it outputs smooth noise values evaluated on the tile. Implementations include Perlin noise (smooth gradient-based), simplex noise (faster and more isotropic), FBM (fractional Brownian motion, sum of multiple octaves), and white noise (pure random).

Intense red and orange lava pattern with high-contrast turbulent fractal noise. Suited for volcanic scenes, fire effect textures, and molten material surfaces.

Configuration choices

• contrast is set to 1.4, which is high — producing crisp, high-contrast output
• octaves 5 — the FBM layer count. A balanced octave count.
• frequency 0.02 — higher values produce more repetitions across the tile

Palette character

The palette pairs deep vivid red with deep vivid orange. It reads warm with all values held in the dark range.

When this texture fits best

Works as an overlay layer, compositional grit, natural-surface ground, or as a base for additional texture stacking. Noise is the foundational building block — most other texture effects layer on top of it.
