How this texture was made

The bark generator combines vertically-stretched FBM for the overall fibre direction with a second horizontal-stretch FBM at a different scale for the characteristic deep grooves of tree bark. Crack networks are extracted from Voronoi edges and overlaid as dark channels.

Very pale, almost white wood with minimal grain and delicate rings. Perfect for minimalist designs, plywood textures, and clean Nordic aesthetics.

Configuration choices

• roughness is set to 0.3, which sits in the mid range — balanced surface detail
• mossAmount is set to 0, which is at the low end — with a clean, moss-free surface
• ridgeFrequency 0.03 — higher values produce more repetitions across the tile

Palette character

The palette spans pale orange, dusty terracotta, terracotta. It reads warm with visible contrast between lighter and darker zones.

When this texture fits best

Fits flooring, panelling, furniture surfaces, outdoor decking, and any context where visible grain carries the material story. Bark reads most authentically in middle-distance nature renders rather than extreme close-ups.
