How this texture was made

The grunge generator composites multiple noise layers with edge-detection-based masking to produce an aged, weathered, dirty overlay texture. A base FBM pass creates large tonal variation.

Orange rust marks with large organic stains and moderate erosion. Ideal for corroded metal panels, industrial decay scenes, and weathered steel textures.

Configuration choices

• contrast is set to 0.4, which sits in the mid range — natural tonal range
• scratchDensity is set to 0.1, which is at the low end — with an almost-pristine surface
• intensity is set to 0.55, which sits in the mid range — moderate intensity

Palette character

The palette pairs deep terracotta with deep dusty terracotta. It reads warm with all values held in the dark range.
