background-size: 256px 256px;Use as Base Color and generate a Displacement map from the texture's luminance for individual stone height variation. Set displacement scale to 0.02-0.08 for realistic rounded cobble profiles visible at ground level.
In Unity, use Parallax Occlusion Mapping for convincing cobblestone depth without extra geometry. In Unreal, enable Tessellation and use a height map to push individual stones outward for close-up walkthrough scenes.
Use the Vanishing Point filter in Photoshop to map cobblestones onto perspective street mockups. In Figma, apply as an image fill to path shapes in urban design presentations and travel-themed UI layouts.
Use for medieval village streets, castle courtyards, and European town plazas in RPG and adventure games. Vary the texture scale and rotation per section to avoid obvious tiling on large cobbled areas.
Perfect for historic district renovations, garden path designs, and driveway paver layout renders. Show individual stone color variation by overlaying a subtle hue-shift map for authentic hand-laid character.

The cobblestone generator uses Voronoi decomposition to partition the tile into stones, then applies per-cell colour variation and a subtle dome-shading to each stone. The dome effect is produced by measuring the distance from each pixel to the nearest cell centre and using that distance as the basis for a radial gradient — pixels near the centre are brightest (light catches the stone's apex), pixels near the cell edge are darker (shadow at the groove). A mortar layer fills the space between cells with a darker, gritty tone.
stoneSize controls the dominant Voronoi cell size. mortarWidth sets the visible gap between stones. stoneVariance pushes per-stone colour variation. wetness simulates rain or wear-polish with darker, specular surfaces.
Historical town visualisation, medieval game environments, European street scenes, architectural visualisation of heritage paving, and product visualisation for outdoor furniture brands with a traditional aesthetic.
Old cobblestone streets have highly varied stone colours — push stoneVariance above 0.5 for authenticity. New reproduction cobblestone has uniform tones; keep variance low. Rain-slick cobblestone is especially dramatic because the dome shading amplifies under specular — pair high wetness with moderate stone variance for the quintessential European rainy street look.
